London - Mornings in Mayfair
Where to Stay & Where to Grab Your Morning Cup - A Guide for Parents, Couples, and the Solo Traveler
Hotels in Mayfair
Mayfair is a fantastic neighbourhood for the weekday work trip or a quick stopover weekend in London. The best hotels can be found in Central London, and more specifically the West End.
I am of two minds when travelling - splurge or save. That said, when ‘saving’ I prioritize location, cleanliness, and proximity to busy roads (light sleeper). Below are the hotels that I have frequented, and can recommend for both ends of the budget.
Coffee Walks
If you are travelling with children, the following are fantastic coffee shops with warm pastries to pick up before a walk some of the most beautiful parks - rain or shine.
Guillam Coffee House - As it turns out, there is such thing as a perfectly made espresso.
Blank Street Coffee - Easy grab and go this is one of several locations throughout the City.
Kayu - For your morning pastry, or your post dinner treat, this bakery is incredible.
Parks: St. James’s Park, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens
Sites: Buckingham Palace, No. 10, the Serpentine, Churchill War Rooms, Kensington Palace
Mini umbrella - I love these little guys that are small enough to fit into a cute purse. If I have a larger umbrella, I always bring umbrella bags - easier to carry and also to throw into a larger backpack or purse and not get your things wet..!
Portable phone charger - Discrete and long lasting
Adapter - I hate to say it, but sometimes you still need one
Paume Hand Sanitizer - Hands down the best; I refill this lil guy constantly
Paume Wipes - For any spills, dirty ankles, mud stained pants when the weather gets rainy…
Phone cord - Is it just me, or are hotel outlets in the most inconvenient of places
Happy 2025 Travels..!
